Your teacher Ana

I was born in one of the best places in the whole world: ¡La Costa del Sol! Specifically, I have been living in a town called Torremolinos, my home town in the province of Málaga, for 33 years.

I have lived surrounded by people from different countries and cultures all my life, thanks to living in one of the most touristic places in the world. This cultural diversity helped me become an open-minded and curious person.

When I had to choose my university studies, I chose Spanish language and Literature as a degree because I have always loved reading and writing since I was a child (in fact, I wanted to be a writer). When I finished my degree in 2011, I decided to study for a Master's degree to be a Spanish teacher in High School with Spanish teenagers (2012). However, I realized that I preferred to teach people from different backgrounds and cultures.

At that moment, I had the opportunity to take a didactics course of Spanish as a foreign language at university and later I started to work as a Spanish teacher for foreigners. This first experience as a Spanish teacher was so fascinating that I decided to do a Master’s Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (2014-2016) and I have been working as a Spanish teacher for foreigners ever since.

I have been working since 2014 in most Spanish schools in my town and, at the same time, I have given many private classes. I have taught Spanish to immigrants, EVS students (European Voluntary Service) in the “Alonso Quijano” Foundation and I have worked sporadically for the University of Málaga, in their Centro Internacional de Español, with Erasmus students.

Over the years, I have been teaching students from all ages, countries, nationalities, cultures and religions and I have specialized teaching adults. I have developed a positive, friendly and durable relationship with my students throughout the years, so connecting with people by teaching them my native language and my culture has become my passion, not only my job.

Furthermore, since 2018 I am an official DELE examiner from all levels and, I have been collaborating in some calls as an examiner and support staff. Moreover, I have prepared many students for these official exams successfully.

I have been working in many different places teaching Spanish, but during the pandemic I saw the opportunity to develop my own teaching environment. As a results, I created “Conecta en español”, a place where we can connect on both a human an educational level.

Learning a new language is opening yourself to the world, to a new view of life. It shows bravery, curiosity and the acceptance of your insecurity facing something new. But you won’t be alone in this path: I will be with you to help you with your first step (and the following steps too) on a fascinating journey though the Spanish language.

Whether you would like to study Spanish for fun or you need it for university or work, I can offer solutions. Maybe you need an official Spanish certificate for University entrance or you need to prove your level of Spanish for a position… Maybe you have a holiday house in Spain or you are living here now and you want to feel part of the community.

Whatever your situation is, this is your place. Many students have already got to know me and they are starting their Spanish path.

What about you? Do you want to connect in Spanish?
